Pacific Business News: T&C Surf Designs opens new Haleiwa store on Oahu’s North Shore

T&C Surf Designs opened its seventh Oahu shop Thursday in the Haleiwa Store Lots on the North Shore.

The new store is in a 1,500-square-foot space that is brand new, said Geoff Oamilda, the store's manager, who was an assistant manager at the company's Pearlridge Center and Ala Moana Center stores.

The new store employs 11 people.

"So far, so good," Oamilda said about the first day of business. "We are at a prime location. We have a lot of residual traffic from Matsumoto Shave Ice."

The shop features T-shirts, surfing and skating gear and accessories.

Craig Sugihara, who founded the company in 1971, said in a statement that he was "stoked" by the opening.

The company has other stores at Ala Moana Center, Pearlridge Center, Kahala Mall, Windward Mall, Ward Warehouse and Ward Centre, which opened in October.

T&C Surf Designs is the newest tenant of the $16 million redevelopment of the Haleiwa property, which is owned by Kamehameha Schools.
